 Santa Maria presso San Satiro si trova all’inizio di via Torino, non molto lontano da piazza Duomo. Vi consiglio di raggiungerla da Via Giuseppe Mazzini, dopo poco più di 100 metri vi troverete difronte al campanile e al Sacello di San Satiro. Questo è sicuramente l’angolo più caratteristico dell’intera chiesa. |  Santa Maria presso San Satiro is at the beginning of Via Torino, not far from Piazza Duomo. Il committente fu il duca Galeazzo Maria Sforza; per alcuni studiosi il progettista fu proprio il giovane pittore marchigiano da poco trasferitosi prima a Bergamo e quindi a Milano: Donato Bramante. | The austere facade is a remake of that originally intended by Bramante. Per questo Bramante decise di costruire questa fantastica illusione e in soli 97 cm riuscì a creare l’illusione di un abside con colonnato. | Yes, this is just an optical illusion.
